About
The New River Gorge Convention and Visitors Bureau is a nonprofit marketing and sales organization whose sole purpose is to take the leadership role in developing the area’s tourism industry and advancing Fayette County as a vacation, group tour and meeting destination.
The New River Gorge Convention & Visitors Bureau is funded entirely through a portion of the hotel occupancy tax collected from overnight stays in local lodging—such as hotels, cabins, vacation rentals, and bed & breakfasts—in Fayette County and participating municipalities. This means our operations and promotional efforts are not supported by local property or income taxes. Instead, visitors who choose to stay overnight help fund tourism marketing, visitor services, and event support throughout the region. In short, our work is powered by tourism, not local tax dollars.
We invite you to visit us in Oak Hill at 310 W. Oyler Ave.
