What To Do Around The Bridge
  • Bridge Day- If you pick one day a year to go wild, pick Bridge Day. Because it’s 876 feet up in the air. Because it’s a rappel down an endless rope. Because it’s the best whitewater on earth. It’s BASE jumping and ziplines and funnel cake, all mashed together. Everything that’s great about the New River Gorge is greatest on one day each year. Let it be Bridge Day.

  • Bridge Walk- Ever wonder what it might be like to walk around in the bridge works? Now you can find out for yourself. Walk out over the river and under the arch. Stare down 876 feet to the churning water below. If you ever wondered what it might look like to walk the catwalk under the bridge, now you can find out.

  • White Water Rafting- Every New River rafting trip that goes down through the gorge goes under the bridge. It's a great way to see it, and you won't find a better photo op than being down on the water. And on Bridge Day, the best way to get a front row seat is on a raft.

  • Events- There's always something happening around the gorge. We have live music, festivals and food. Our events cover just about all the things you could want on a vacation to the mountains.
