Challenge yourself during Captain Thurmond’s Challenge when competitors vie for first place in a nontraditional race that includes mountain biking, kayaking and a cross-country run. Special kids events make it fun for the whole family!

A weekend of outdoor competition. Lafayette’s Challenge, held in historic Fayetteville, on Saturday, August 4, is 28.5 miles of the most extreme whitewater, mountain biking, and running on the East Coast.
Sunday, August 5 brings family fun to the historic town of Thurmond with the Thurmond Triathlon, a family friendly, beginner triathlon.
